Below are a few examples of our more recent successes in the areas of divorce and criminal law.

Child Custody

During trial four experts all testified against our client the Judge found it was in the best interest of the child that our client be awarded custody. We have successfully represented clients in numerous child custody cases.

Alimony (Maintenance/Support)

We recently analyzed a case whereby the opposing side was seeking a substantial award of maintenance against our client. After a thorough review of the facts and circumstances and several hearings, our client’s obligation to pay maintenance was limited to two years at half of what his former spouse was seeking.

Child Support

After our client voluntarily changed employment we were able to obtain a substantial reduction in child support payments. We have also stopped such reductions when representing clients receiving child support.

Business Valuations

In divorce, many divorce cases have had issues revolving around a business established by one spouse or the other during the course of the marriage. Although we have tried several of these cases; our most recent success is demonstrative in that our client established a business during the marriage. The value of the business was hotly contested. We contended the value of the business was approximately $4 million dollars less than the value that was claimed by opposing counsel. After numerous valuations, analysis and presentations to the Court, the Court settled on a valuation consistent with our position thereby saving the client more than $2 million dollars.

Drugs, “Class X” Felony, Intent to Distribute

After the police broke into our client’s house, we successfully suppressed the evidence and the case was subsequently dismissed.

Aggravated Domestic Battery

We have tried many aggravated battery and domestic batter cases. Our most recent success was our client was charged with attacking and stabbing the victim in their home. After conducting extensive discovery, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing all the factors contained in the case, we were able to get the cause dismissed.

DUI

We handle numerous first and repeat DUIs and have excellent success in acquittals or reductions of charges with minimum impact for our clients. As members of the NACDL, we have numerous expert witnesses available to rebut the vast resources of the prosecution and receive favorable rulings.
